The first Sheep-breeders Assosiation in Bulgaria was registered in Apriltsy. This is the only place in Central Stara Planina where the alpine sheep-breeding is kept and develops. The Central-Stara-Planina sheep is bred here mainly. White brine cheese is still produced in the alpine dairy farms by traditional technologies.
