The natural reserves of Kozya Stena, Steneto and Severen Dzhendem are situated in the region of Troyan and Apriltsi. They are part of the Central Balkan National Park,
famous for its unique plant and animal life, wild nature and exceedingly beautiful landscape.
The park is the natural habitation of some rare and endangered species – the edelweiss, Alpine rose, venerable beech forests, brown bear, golden eagle, red deer, wolf, wild goat etc.

The prestigious certficate Pan Park was given to the Park.
The natural reserve Severen Djendem is closely situated to Apriltsy. There are about 30 waterfalls of a height above 20m.
Reserve Severen Dzendem
Severen Djendem Reserve is located on the north slopes of Middle Stara Planina from the Russalka Peak to the Botev Peak. It is located in the district of the Apriltsi Municipality and takes up an area of 1600 xa.
The reserve's terrain is very steep, rocky, inaccessible and cut through by many mountain streams. The Vidimsko Pruskalo (a famous Bulgarian waterfall) is located in its west side.

magnificence of the Balkan nature, the majesty of the snowbound peaks, the heady scent of flowers and herbs – this is the magnetic power of Apriltsy.
 Here the eternal is the spring of energy and wisdom.
The researches of the experts point out that Apriltsy is at the front line in Europe for the intensity of oxygen – together with the famous Czech resort Karlovi vari. Tubercular patients were treated here in the past. Now there are climatic conditions in Apriltsy Municipality for the treatment of the pulmonary ill children.
Apriltsy offers many opportunities for hunting and fishing, horse- and walking-tourism, cycling, charming places for picnics and sun-bathing along the river bank.
The Apriltsy’s climatic conditions are appropriate for development of the fruit-growing /apples and plums/, for cultivation of raspberries and aronia.
