Landmarks
back to where to go

The natural reserves of Kozya Stena, Steneto and Severen Dzhendem are situated in the region of Troyan and Apriltsi. They are part of the Central Balkan National Park,
famous for its unique plant and animal life, wild nature and exceedingly beautiful landscape.
The park is the natural habitation of some rare and endangered species – the edelweiss, Alpine rose, venerable beech forests, brown bear, golden eagle, red deer, wolf, wild goat etc.

The prestigious certficate Pan Park was given to the Park.
The natural reserve Severen Djendem is closely situated to Apriltsy. There are about 30 waterfalls of a height above 20m.
Reserve Severen Dzendem
Severen Djendem Reserve is located on the north slopes of Middle Stara Planina from the Russalka Peak to the Botev Peak. It is located in the district of the Apriltsi Municipality and takes up an area of 1600 xa.
The reserve's terrain is very steep, rocky, inaccessible and cut through by many mountain streams. The Vidimsko Pruskalo (a famous Bulgarian waterfall) is located in its west side.
Flora
Fauna

Most interesting for the tourists is the architectural complex. It is created by reconstructed old houses with preserved autentic appearance.
The church "St. Archangel Michail", built in 1872, is situated in Skandaloto. It is remarkable for its stone plastic arts - representation of pigeons on the stone cornice of the church.
